The Bodmin Wenford Railway’s auto train will be launched back into service on Friday 8 April, the first day of the line’s Spring Steam Spectacular. and the visit of Postman Pat, Paddington Bear and Fireman Sam to Bodmin! It was then the first in Cornwall to use steam power, and pre- dated the mainline to London by 25 years. trains would have to reverse there to continue the journey - something that still happens today on the Bodmin Wenford. The Bodmin and Wenford steam railway runs a number of dinning trains on select days each year. Over the border into Cornwall there is the Bodmin to Wenford Steam Railway, based at the old Bodmin Town Station.
